Websites & SEO for electricians

The electrician who answers first gets the job.

Most electrical work starts as an urgent search on a phone. Someone has no power, a tripped safety switch, or a compliance deadline. They tap the first two or three results, and whoever picks up gets the job. Everything we build for an electrician is aimed at that moment.

What's costing electricians work right now

Three things we see on nearly every site in this industry. None of them are about how the site looks.

01

The emergency calls go to whoever ranks in the map box

Nobody researches an electrician when the power is out. They search, they look at the three businesses in the map box, and they call. If your Google Business Profile is thin or unverified, you are not in that box, and the job was never yours to lose.

02

A one-page site that lists 'electrical services'

Switchboard upgrades, rewires, EV chargers, safety switches, data cabling and emergency callouts are six different searches with six different intents. A single page that mentions all of them ranks for none of them properly.

03

Missed calls while you are up a ladder

You cannot answer the phone with your hands in a meter box. The caller does not leave a message — they call the next electrician. That is the most expensive thing on this page, and it is not a website problem.

Worth being blunt about

Emergency intent changes what the site has to do

A customer searching for a kitchen renovation will read three pages and think about it for a fortnight. A customer with no power reads nothing. The phone number has to be the first thing on the screen, the site has to load on a bad mobile connection outside, and somebody — or something — has to answer. Design that ignores this is design that costs you callouts.

What we'd build

The set-up for a electrician

Six of the things we build or run, chosen for this industry. Each says whether it is in the monthly plan or quoted on top — custom software is software, not pages. Plans and prices are on the pricing page.

01
Quoted on top

Something answers while your hands are in a meter box

An AI receptionist takes the call, works out whether it is an emergency or a quote, gets the address and the fault, and texts you. You cannot answer a phone on a ladder, and the caller will not leave a message — they ring the next electrician.

02
Quoted on top

Enquiries become jobs, not emails

The form captures job type, suburb and urgency and lands in ServiceM8, simPRO, AroFlo or Fergus as a job — each of those publishes an API we can work against. What it can actually push depends on your plan and setup, so we check before quoting.

03
Quoted on top

The job record around the certificate

To be clear about what we cannot do: in Victoria a Certificate of Electrical Safety is purchased and lodged through ESVConnect by the licensed worker, and no website can issue one. What we can build is everything around it — the job record, test results, photos and the customer-facing summary, searchable later, instead of a photo of a carbon copy on someone's phone.

04
In the plan

Real pages for the suburbs you drive to

Emergency electrical is decided by proximity. Service-area pages that say something true about working in that suburb, rather than the same page with the name swapped, which Google now penalises.

05
Quoted on top

Know which search produced which call

Your business runs on phone calls, so measuring only form submissions measures almost nothing. Call tracking ties the call back to the search, the ad and the page that caused it.

06
Quoted on top

Book the non-urgent work without a phone call

Quotes, EV charger installs and switchboard upgrades can be booked through Cal.com or Calendly at 9pm, when the customer is actually thinking about it.

Included free with every plan

AI chatbot — free on every plan

A basic AI chatbot trained on your business, answering common customer questions on your site around the clock. We build it, train it and connect it free with every plan — AI message usage is billed separately.

Anything beyond basic question answering — lead capture and qualification, a large knowledge base, appointment booking, or connecting to your CRM and other systems — is quoted per project.

The signature build

An EV charger enquiry that qualifies itself

EV charger installation is the best-paid domestic electrical work going and the most tedious to quote, because half the answer depends on things the customer can tell you themselves.

01

The questions that decide the price

Switchboard age and available space, single or three phase, distance from board to parking, whether the meter box is inside or out.

02

Photos they take for you

Two photographs — the switchboard and the parking spot — settle most of what a site visit would have told you.

03

An indicative range on the spot

A band rather than a fixed number, with what would move it. People who get a range enquire; people who get "we'll call you" go elsewhere.

04

Straight into the job list

By the time you read it, it is a job with an address, photos and a rough scope attached.

Getting it right

The things a customer checks before letting you in

Cheap to display, quietly decisive, and missing from most electrical websites.

On the page
  • Electrical licence number, shown rather than claimed
  • Public liability cover and who it is with
  • Which work is Level 2 and what that means for the customer
  • That a Certificate of Electrical Safety is issued, and what it covers
  • Whether you are the one attending, or a subcontractor is

Your existing tools

The website should feed what you already run

Every tool listed here publishes a developer API, which is why it is listed — we checked. That is not the same as a connection already built: what can be pushed depends on your plan and setup, so we scope it before quoting. Where your software has no API, we say so rather than quote around it.

What your customers type

Searches, not slogans.

These are the kinds of phrases people use when they need a electrician. Which of them are worth chasing depends on volume, difficulty and what the work is worth to you — that is what the keyword research settles before we write a word, and it is the first thing we do on any project.

Most electricians run something like ServiceM8, simPRO, Fergus or AroFlo. Where that software publishes an API we can feed it directly; where it does not, the enquiry still arrives as structured data rather than a paragraph of email. We check which before we quote anything.

Google Ads

Call-only ads, and only for emergencies

`electrician` runs around $22 a click in Australia. That is survivable for emergency work with a real job at the end of it, and ruinous for anything else.

Ad spend is not part of the plan — it goes straight to Google. What the plan covers is building and managing the campaigns. See how we run Google Ads →

For this industry
Best useCall-only campaigns on emergency terms, scheduled for the hours you will actually answer.
SkipBroad terms like "electrician melbourne" — expensive, and the intent is mixed.
Exclude early"apprentice", "course", "salary", "jobs", "TAFE", "DIY", "how to wire".
MeasureCalls over 60 seconds, not clicks. A 12-second call is a wrong number you paid for.

And in your industry

This page describes what we would build and why, not a track record we do not have yet. If you would rather hire someone with ten clients in your industry, that is a fair call — and we would rather say so than imply otherwise.

FAQs

Electricians — questions we get asked

That is most of the point. Emergency work is won in the map pack and on the phone, so the Google Business Profile work and the call answering matter more than the website design. We build all three together rather than selling you a site and hoping.
